This term we are going to be learning all about ‘Sea Adventures’.

We will be sharing a new story each week. Our focus texts will be ‘The Snail and The Whale’, ‘Mermaid School, ‘The Night Pirates’ and more. We will learn how to retell and act out the story. We will also be developing descriptions and story language in our writing too.

We have now learnt all of our sounds and will continue to practise applying these sounds in our reading and writing. We will also continue to learn our ‘words to learn’.

In maths we will be exploring numbers to 10, identifying and creating patterns, recognising shapes and learning their properties. We will be learning about estimation and developing different counting strategies. We will also be learning about different measures, including; length, weight, capacity and time.

We have been planting bulbs and wildflower seeds in our outdoor space and the children are excited to see all the beautiful flowers beginning to grow!

Reminders

All children are required to come into school wearing their own clothes for Forest School.

They will need to bring in their school uniform in a bag so they can change back into this after their lesson and will bring the Forest School clothes back home with them.

Wellies can stay at school.

As the weather gets warmer children won’t need as many layers, however, they are required to have long trousers and tops that cover their arms.

Please ensure all items of clothing are named

Beech Forest School will be on Wednesday morning.

Palm Forest School will be on Tuesday morning.

PE is on a Friday for both classes

PE kits are stored in school and send home to be washed at the end of each half term.

Water Bottles

Please ensure your child has a named water bottle in school. These must be taken home at the end of each day and returned the following day.
